For people intending to use the M32/Bristol Ring Road ( A4174 ), please note that there will be road closures on the north east quadrant of the Ring Road and there are likely to be very heavy traffic jams on the alternative routes. We advise that you find a route which stays very well clear of the Ring Road and Bristol. Please get in touch if you need help.

BACKGROUND

A regatta was held on this course until 1972, when it moved to Bristol docks. In its heyday, it was called “the Henley of the West”. The regatta moved back to Saltford in 2008.

The history (pdf 491kb) gives a vivid picture of an Edwardian Regatta.
