Bristol Avon at Saltford Regatta The
2012 regatta will be held on Saturday 19 May. The
regatta is organised by Avon County Rowing Club and takes place on the River
Avon at Saltford, between Bath and Bristol. The
course is 1000 m and straight. Here is
the 2011

results (including times taken) BACKGROUND A regatta
was held on this course until 1972, when it moved to Bristol docks. In its
heyday, it was called “the Henley of the West”. The regatta moved back to Saltford in 2008. The history (pdf 491kb) gives a vivid picture of an Edwardian Regatta. |
